The breadth and diversity of our investments has meant that we have been able to improve the lives of young people living in some of the world’s toughest conditions.
However, mindful of the old saying that “charity begins at home”, BFT’s Trustees have become increasingly concerned at the devastating impact the current economic climate is having on the education and employment prospects of many young Britons In 2013 and beyond.
BFT is now looking to tackle deprivation closer to home with a specific focus on helping young people between the ages of 16 and 25, living in some of the most deprived parts of London.
“This new vision is closely linked to my recent involvement with the London 2012 Olympic Games – the first in which ‘building a legacy for the world’s most vulnerable youth’ became a top priority”. Chai Patel.
